DECISION 621/QD-UB & 626/QD-UB DATED 11 & 12 FEBRUARY 2003
BY THE PEOPLE’S COMMITTEE OF HO CHI MINH CITY
ON RESTRICTION & BAN ON TRUCK IN INNER CITY.

According to Decision 621/QD-UB, trucks weighing up to 2.5 tonnes will be prohibited from using city streets during peak hours (from 6 to 9am and 4 to 9pm ); all streets in Districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11 and those in Tan Binh, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan and Go Vap Districts, inner parts of belt road of 1A National Highway (from Binh Phuoc bridge to turning point of Nguyen Van Linh road) belonging to Hoc Mon & Binh Chanh districts, part of Nguyen Van Linh in 7, 8, Binh Chanh districts) are included in the ban.


The ban is effective from March 1.

New restrictions will apply to heavy goods trucks (weighing 2.5 tonnes or more) in the same area from July 1 according to Decision 626/QD-UB.


Between 6am and 9pm the heavy trucks will not be banned to drive or park in inner city districts excluding corridor of Ha Noi expressway, line from Sai Gon bridge to Nguyen Huu Canh – Ton Duc Thang – Ham Nghi – Ton That Dam – Ben Chuong Duong – Khanh Hoi bridge – Nguyen Tat Thanh – Tan Thuan bridge – Huynh Tan Phat – Nguyen Van Linh – 1A national highway during off-peak hours. Heavy vehicles which need to travel in the city during these hours must obtain a license from the Police Department.
