History of establishment:

Saigon Port officially became a member of Vietnam National Shipping Lines on 23/01/1996 according to the Decision No.576/QĐ-HĐBT.
Pursuant to the Decision No.2684/QĐ-BGTVT of the Minister of Ministry of Transport dated 30/08/2007 transferring Saigon Port to Saigon Port Company Limited.
Nha Rong Khanh Hoi terminal has been established following to the Decision No.709/QĐ-HĐTV dated 01/07/2008 issued by Member Council of Saigon Port Company Limited based on the mergence and re-organisation of Nha Rong Stevedoring Company and Khanh Hoi Stevedoring Company

Functions: Nha Rong – Khanh Hoi Port is a dependent accounting unit of Saigon Port, assigned and authorized by the General Director of Saigon Port to perform some business duties of Saigon Port. Its business activities:

• Management and Operation of seaport;
• Cargo handling at seaport;
• Port warehouses/yards services;
• Cargo packing, storage and delivery services;
• Custom clearance services;
• Handling, delivery/receiving and transporting of over-length/over-weight cargoes;
• Cargo tallying services;
• Other business industries decentralized by Saigon Port.

Missions and Rights:

• Management, using and efficiently operating all properties, technical facilities assigned by Saigon Port.
• Organising and performing tasks, targets and business plans efficiently.
• Management and operation of properties, equipments and facilities in accordance with Saigon Port’s regulations.
• Apply scientific, technical and technological advances and new management methods to improve productivity, quality and efficiency in business activities of the Port.
• Being a dependent accounting unit and being active in business activities following to the decentralization and authorization of Saigon Port’s General Director.
• Having the right to directly connect with the domestic and foreign organizations to solve and implement necessary procedures in business activities and economic cooperation authorized by Saigon Port’s General Director.
