The festival will take place at Vung Tau city, BR-VT province from Nov 10-12 2012 with the theme "Vietnam - Peaceful and developed commercial port" with many programs such as Carnival welcoming International Seaport Festival with theme "For peace on East Sea"; Friendship golf tournament for delegates and guesses to collect for fund : "For beloved Spratly Island"; Exhibition of seaport, shipping companies, international and Vietnamese logistics, Fair of related goods, products and services; Opening ceremony of International Seaport Festival; Performance of light technology "Light garden"; International convention and forum on the orientation of developing Vietnamese seaport and seaport city; International musical show "Hello Vietnam sea"; and Lana dinner closing ceremony with theme "Colors of Vietnam sea".

This is the first time that Vietnam held the festival as host, therefore, the event has important meaning towards political, economic and social life that help execute plan of developing seaport to 2020 and aim to 2030. The festival is held in order to propagandize role and location of Vietnamese economy in new age, reinforce economy, security and national defense of country that improve awareness of people and propagandize Vietnamese sovereignty deeply and widely to region and the world.
